Moving to the cloud: Arvato Systems implements extensive IT migration project

Migration of over 150 servers and business-critical applications to Arvato Systems Virtual Private Cloud

G tersloh - As part of an extensive project, Trianel has successfully migrated its data center services to Arvato Systems. The aim was to transfer the existing infrastructures to a highly available virtual private cloud (VPC), thereby creating the technological basis for a modern, secure, and scalable IT landscape.

The IT project included the setup and commissioning of more than 150 servers, extensive database and Citrix environments, file services, backup and storage solutions, and the migration of business-critical applications, among other things. In addition, housing solutions, VPN and Azure connections, and a Security Operations Center (SOC) including a process landscape were integrated.

Arvato Systems worked with the customer in Aachen to divide the project into five sub-projects. The establishment of a geo-redundant infrastructure across several data centers now ensures maximum reliability.

The migration project was a milestone in many respects - technically demanding, organizationally complex, and strategically extremely important, explains Oliver Baukmann, project manager at Arvato Systems. The close, trusting cooperation with Trianel was the key to success.

Following the official completion of the project and a subsequent stabilization phase, the IT project has now transitioned fully into regular operation. The new setup forms the basis for a multi-year operating phase. The project not only strengthens the operational reliability of Trianels IT infrastructure, but also Arvato Systems strategic position as a leading IT service provider to the energy and utilities industry.

At E-world energy & water, which will take place in Essen from February 10 to 12, 2026, experts from Arvato Systems will provide insights into migration projects. Interested trade visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the technical and organizational aspects of the transformation in a personal conversation at booth 3C115.
