7de Laan has been on the air since 2000. Charmaine Meintjies was surely one of the show's most beloved characters, running the local Oppikoffie and eventually changing into the secondary character Vivian, a flawlessly portrayed evil twin in true soapie-story style.

Charmaine in 7de Laan The character of Charmaine Meintjies first appeared in the year 2000.
For almost two decades, viewers got to know Charmaine and her vibrant laugh in almost every episode of the show. Almost everyone can mention a favourite scene or memory with Charmaine in it: weddings, parties, and what feels like several hundred fashion shows graced our screens.

According to IMdB, she played Charmaine in a total of 282 episodes.
But Charmaine isn't the only character Vinette has played in her time as South African actress.
Other roles Vinette also had a starring roles in shows like Arendsvlei (2018), Binnelanders (2019) and Skemerdans (2021). She played Vera in Salvation (2019), and Dean in God is African (2003).
Futher back, she played character Fanny Bees in the 1989 miniseries Barney Barnato. The same show also starred actors Sean Taylor and Graham Hopkins.

She is also a stage actress, portraying the leading role in My Name is Ellen Pakkies.
Vinette is one of the most recognizable South African actresses of all time, and she's had more local screen time than Charlize Theron herself.
What's NEW for Vinette Ebrahim after 7de Laan? If you haven't seen Vinette acting in anything recently, then you may just not have been paying enough attention. Her more recent acting credits include appearances in Stream Swirl (2021) on Showmax, as well as joining the Season 2 cast of Diepe Waters (Deep Waters).

She also portrays Aisha in the movie Barakat: the film was the official South African Oscar submission for 2022.
