Adam Gold & Joe Ovies
After over 2,500 shows together, 99.9 The Fan Sports Talk Hosts Adam Gold and Joe Ovies will do their final Adam & Joe show on Friday, March 19, 2020. The duo has been working together at Capitol Broadcasting Companys 99.9 The Fan for over 10 years.
Ive known these two very talented individuals for seven years, and its been my pleasure to see them continually grow and entertain their loyal listeners, said 99.9 The Fan Operations Manager/Program Director Dennis Glasgow. They have also been a huge part of 99.9 The Fan being Nominated for a Marconi 2016, and sports station of the year. I very excited to listen to their newly created radio shows that start on Monday, as they both start a new chapter with 99.9 The Fan.
On Monday, March 23, the pair will morph into a new lineup for the sports radio station. Joe Ovies will be staying in their current timeslot with new show, The OG with Ovies & Giglio, from 3-6pm weekdays. Gold will be moving to middays and his how show, called The Adam Gold Show, will have 11 state-wide affiliates partnering with Curtis Media and the North Carolina Sports Network from 12-3pm weekdays.
Gold and Ovies have racked up a number of awards over the years. During their tenure 99.9 The Fan was a finalist for the 2016 NAB Sports Station of the Year. The station won the 2015 North Carolina Large Market Station of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters while their show won Personality/Show of the Year. Barrett Sports Media (BSM) ranked them #6 sports radio afternoon show for medium-sized markets in the nation in January 2020.
Ovies also has a very popular podcast he hosts called 919 Beer Podcast that is one CBCs most successful podcasts. Gold hosts CBCs most downloaded and most listened to podcast, Canes Corner Podcast.
Ive worked with Adam over twenty years and Joe since he was in grade school (or at least college), said CBC Vice President of Radio Brian Maloney. As the Adam & Joe Show concludes, Im very excited about the future for both of them and our stations. The success the Adam & Joe Show has is almost storybook. Great audience share, remarkable relationships with our client base you name it, they brought it every day. Its time to look to the future with both of these incredibly talented folks .and the future look bright!
