Racing UK re-launches live and VoD service

International subscribers to horseracing broadcaster, Racing UK, can now view content via a multi-platform, live streaming and seven-day catch-up service, courtesy of Simplestream.

The enhanced service enables viewers to subscribe to watch Racing UK live and on-demand, across computers, mobiles and tablets, via Simplestream's proprietary Media Manager solution.

Simplestream's CatchupTV technology allows for the automated creation of video assets from the live stream, offering Racing UK viewers the opportunity to re-watch any race.

Simplestream found and CEO Adam Smith, commented: We have been delighted to work with Racing UK to offer a full subscription service, taking their TV channel to a global market. Using our Media Manager technology, Racing UK are able to offer international viewers the chance to access their unrivalled live streaming and seven-day catch-up service, across multiple devices for an affordable fee.

Multiplatform content is just one of the areas of the broadcast industry which will be celebrated in the TVBAwards next month, held by TVBEurope and TV Technology Europe. Achievement in Multiplatform Content is one of three awards in the Delivery category, which alongside three others, comprises the Awards. Easel TV, Elemental Technologies, Ooyala and EVS are all up for the honour.
