Now in its 11th year, NAB Show New York was established as an East Coast variant of the annual NAB Spring Convention in Las Vegas. Held from Tuesday October 21 through Wednesday October 22 at its usual Javits Center venue on Manhattan's west side, NAB New York 2026 attracted just over 6,700 registered attendees compared with 11,500 registered visitors to NAB New York 2025.
The decline in attendance numbers is curious given the increase in registered attendance for the Las Vegas NAB Show . Approximately 57% of NAB Show New York visitors are reported to have been first-time attendees compared with 48% of visitors to the Las Vegas event.
As ever, a key difference between the Las Vegas and New York events is that products launched in April tend to become actually deliverable, or very nearly so, during the 6-month time gap. This short report highlights recently introduced products selected as indicators of current technical trends.
Absen promoted its new LR V3 LED display which gives production teams multiple ways to build beyond a traditional flat wall. Dual horizontal curve locks support angle adjustments from -7.5 to 10 degrees, allowing the assembly of curved display configurations. A 45-degree dual-edge design on both sides of the cabinet also enables 90-degree L-shaped displays, opening additional possibilities for dimensional stage structures and scenic integration.
Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Series
Blackmagic promoted three new UltraStudio Mini 12G series video capture and playback units for Thunderbolt-interfaced computers. The UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G version plays back to 12G-SDI and HDMI. The UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G captures from 12G-SDI and HDMI. The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G supports both 12G-SDI capture and playback, with dual independent 12G-SDI fill and key outputs, plus a separate dedicated 12G-SDI monitoring output. The replay model also supports live action replay features in DaVinci Resolve. All models work in SD, HD and UHD video standards up to 2160p60.
Brainstorm Electronics exhibited its new DXD series multiformat IP reference generator which can output up to 4 independent video syncs and audio clocks simultaneously. The DXD-16 Universal Clock combines PTP, GPS and legacy sync. With the PTP option, the DXD-8 acts as a clocking bridge between an IP infrastructure and legacy A/V equipment.
Broadcast Electronics MTX Compact series FM transmitters builds on the company's STX platform, retaining its direct-to-channel digital exciter technology and support for upgrades to HD Radio and DRM , while introducing a new hardware platform and expanded software functionality. Available at power levels of up to 1 kW, the 2 RU transmitters use the latest LDMOS radio-frequency devices and high-efficiency switching power supplies to improve power density and reduce energy consumption.
Clear-Com's Mentrix is designed to give intercom operators fast access to essential communications functions. It features 16 keysets, combining eight lever keys with either eight or 16 rotary keys, alongside touch controls. Mentrix supports AoIP for integration into networked intercom workflows.
Chyron Camio
Chyron's Camio allows newsroom computer users to search, populate or order graphics, and add them to stories in the rundown. Octopus, Avid iNews, ENPS, Dalet, Open Media, and Inception are supported. Plugins to Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, and Grass Valley Edius allow designers and editors to import animated graphics directly into a story timeline.
Cobalt BluCORE
Cobalt promoted its blueCORE family of 1 RU standalone signal processors which support both SDI and ST 2110/IPMX, allowing users to process signals within existing SDI environments while providing a direct path toward IP. The ST 2110 version consumes less than 80W, while the self-contained design enables configuration and operation with or without a computer. Capabilities include up/down/cross conversion, color correction, several flavors of HDR processing, audio routing and mixing, per-channel frame sync, frame rate conversion, audio embedding and de embedding, plus SCTE 104 insertion as well as logo insertion.
ENCO s Qimera is a real-time 3D compositing system that enables the production of immersive virtual environments, augmented reality graphics and live productions. Qimera tracks the presenter's full body in 3D. The added spatial data helps eliminate visual artifacts such as detached shadows and reflections.
Facilis' Hub shared storage provides support for Avid Media Composer collaborative shared projects and bin locking, allowing multiple editors and artists to work simultaneously within the exact same project. Users can search millions of indexed assets, preview clips, and import media directly into Avid bins as linked or transcoded assets with metadata and marker data on the timeline.
Haivision's Makito One video transport platform combines dual-channel encoding and decoding in one device. Supporting 4K and HD video, with H.264, HEVC, and JPEG XS codecs, as well as SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 connectivity, it is built to simplify deployment and support evolving broadcast workflows.
Ikegami UHK-X700VN
Ikegami's UHK-X700VN camera made its US market debut following its introduction at IBC. The new model offers creative features usually associated with digital cinematography. These include Bokeh effects, seamless depth of field adjustability and seamless exposure adjustment. A variable neutral-density filter gives operators the freedom to precisely control exposure, regardless of changes in the amount of incoming light, while maintaining their existing iris setting and depth of field. This opens a wide range of creative possibilities, including naturally blurring the background to emphasize t
