NFL and TMRW Sports Unveil Premier Flag, Professional Flag Football League Launching Summer 2027

The NFL and TMRW Sports have unveiled Premier Flag, the brand identity for a new professional flag football league for women and men. It is set to launch in summer 2027 from a U.S. host city to be announced in the coming weeks. The league is being developed by the NFL and TMRW Sports. Its investor group includes all 32 NFL club owners, institutional and strategic investors, and current and former NFL players and women athletes. The league's digital destinations are PremierFlagFootball.com, @PremierFlag on X, Instagram and TikTok, and @PremierFlagFootball on YouTube and Facebook.

Brand and stadium. TMRW Sports' Peter Jung, CMO; Laura Andriani, SVP, marketing, flag football; and Chad Read, VP, brand and creative director, led the brand development. Pivot Brand Group developed the name, positioning and visual identity. TOGETHXR is supporting social content strategy and production. TOGETHXR was cofounded by Jessica Robertson with Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, Simone Manuel and Sue Bird. Populous is designing the league's inaugural stadium, which the league says will be the first purpose-built stadium for flag football. Transwestern is leading the host city and league hub selection.

Ambassadors. Four players are advising TMRW Sports on the player experience, including training camps, facilities, uniforms and rules, and will represent the league publicly:

Ashlea Klam: Youngest player on Team USA Football in 2023, at 18. Won gold at the 2024 IFAF World Championships and silver at the 2026 event. 2026 NAIA Women's Flag Football Player of the Year at Keiser University, now at Cal Poly.

Isabella Izzy Geraci: Team USA Football wide receiver and defensive back. Won gold at the 2024 IFAF World Championships and silver in 2026, when she recorded 292 receiving yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Vanita Krouch: Former Team USA Football captain and quarterback with three IFAF World Championship golds (2018, 2021, 2024) and a 50-3 international record under her leadership.

Darrell Housh Doucette III: Team USA Football quarterback with three IFAF World Championship golds (2021, 2024, 2026) and a 36-1 record. Gold medal game MVP in 2026 with four touchdowns, two passing and two rushing.

Combines and showcase. TMRW Sports and the NFL held the first Premier Flag London Combine at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 6, with athletes from ten countries. Top performers advance to the Premier Flag Combine in 2027, with more talent identification events planned, including Mexico City on Nov. 22-23. The inaugural Premier Flag Showcase will be held during Super Bowl LXI week in Los Angeles, presented live from a custom-built venue. 2026 NFL Pro Bowl players, Hall of Famers and legends will serve as advocates.

Olympic alignment. TMRW Sports has formed a partnership with the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), the IOC-recognized federation responsible for Olympic flag football. At the 2026 IFAF World Championships, Canada's women's and men's teams, Italy's men's team and Mexico's women's team joined the U.S. women's and men's teams as the first nations to earn berths for flag football's debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

More than 20 million people play flag football worldwide

About 4.1 million young people play in the U.S., up more than 50% since 2020

High school flag football is offered in 40 states, 25 of them at the varsity level, and participation among young women on high school teams rose nearly 60% from 2024 to 2025

More than 250 U.S. colleges and universities field women's programs

The NCAA has approved flag football for its Emerging Sports for Women program and recommended Divisions I, II and III add a national championship as early as spring 2028
