Great White recorded his last music video in 4K with the JVC GY-LS300 Aunque todo el proyecto se masteriz en 1080p fue rodado casi en su totalidad en 4K porque represent una gran reducci n en tiempo. El director utiliz masivamente el modo de c mara lenta a 120 fps de la c mara y la funci n de mapping variable en la producci n del nuevo trabajo de la legendaria banda de rock.

Big Time, el nuevo clip de la banda de hard rock Great White, se ha rodado en 4K con la c mara GY-LS300 4KCAM S per 35 de JVC. La producci n del clip dur 4 d as y tuvo lugar a primeros de mayo en Riverside y Yacuiba (California). El clip incluye el primer single de su nuevo lbum Full Circle, lanzado al mercado el mes pasado.

Vista Media Solutions e Infinite Media Production, dos productoras norteamericanas de Grand Junction (Colorado), se unieron para este proyecto que se masteriz en 1080p, pero cuyo rodaje se llev a cabo en 4K. Tambi n se utiliz masivamente el modo de c mara lenta grabando a 120 fps. El hilo narrativo del videoclip habla de un joven rockero que pretende convertirse en una estrella del rock.

Scot Stewart, propietario y director creativo de Vista Media Solutions, lleva trabajando con la GY-LS300 m s de un a o. La adquiri pensando en la versatilidad que le proporcionaba en sus proyectos la montura MFT y la funcionalidad Variable Scan Mapping, que ajusta el sensor CMOS Super 35 para acomodar de forma nativa pticas EF, PL o de otro tipo usando adaptadores comunes en el mercado.

Seg n Stewart, la banda quer a un v deo muy din mico con movimientos r pidos mediante m ltiples tomas desde distintos ngulos de los mismos momentos musicales. Para rodar ese material adicional sin abusar de tener que trasladar la c mara o estar cambiando las pticas continuamente, Stewart ech mano de la funci n Prime Zoom, que permite a los operadores utilizar pticas primarias de focal fija para hacer zoom, sin perder ni resoluci n ni profundidad de campo.

Cuando solo dispones de tres o cuatro d as para rodar un videoclip musical, tener que reubicar la c mara a cada momento es realmente un engorro , explic . La captura de la imagen a 4K y la funci n Prime Zoom fueron de gran ayuda. Fue todo un descubrimiento y estoy convencido que es una enorme ventaja en este tipo de rodajes .

Big Time constituy un aut ntico reto para Stewart, ya que hasta ese momento se hab a especializado principalmente en producciones publicitarias de contenido pol tico y tambi n v deos corporativos. Aunque todo el proyecto acabado se masteriz en 1080p, Stewart rod casi exclusivamente en 4K porque le represent una gran reducci n en tiempo, permiti ndole, por ejemplo, rodar una entrevista una sola vez con una toma abierta y luego cropearla en postproducci n. Tambi n explic que el buen comportamiento de la c mara en baja luz le permiti hacer entrevistas sin apenas alterar los ajustes de iluminaci n, lo cual aceler tambi n el proceso de producci n.

Siempre he sido un fan de JVC, dijo Stewart. Cuando esta c mara apareci en el mercado y al conocer su precio, tuve claro que la quer a. Intento emular y competir con los grandes y sus grandes medios de producci n. La GY-LS300 me ayuda en los aspectos de calidad de imagen y en lo que puedo hacer en postproducci n. Los resultados mi trabajo est n perfectamente a la altura del de ellos .
