Mobile Viewpoint launches HyperSense, an Artificial Intelligence-based video search and storage solution

Mobile Viewpoint, a leader in IP contribution solutions, today announced the launch of HyperSense, an Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) based video logging and storage solution, with video search capabilities. Using AI for object, facial and speech recognition, HyperSense simplifies the metadata tagging process, allowing broadcasters and content owners to maximise the value of their video archives. HyperSense will make its debut at this year's NAB Show alongside NewsPilot and IQ Sports Producer, two new live production solutions from Mobile Viewpoint that are also driven by AI.

Using a combination of AI technology built in-house by Mobile Viewpoint, and technology from third parties, HyperSense adds metadata tags to video as it is ingested. Using its AI Indexer, HyperSense analyses and logs metadata based on three algorithms: object, facial and speech recognition:

HyperSense uses its own AI technology for object recognition, adding metadata tags to simple objects such as dog or car . For more advanced objects, HyperSense can utilise technology from third parties, such as Google and Clarify, to add metadata tags.

For facial recognition metadata tagging, HyperSense uses Mobile Viewpoint's own AI technology. Customers can also upload their own database of imagery, or search for people online, to train and expand HyperSense's metadata tagging capabilities.

For speech recognition, Hypersense uses third party AI technology to add metadata tags based on unique and meaningful words.

Other key features of HyperSense include Smart Storage and Video Search. By storing video and logging metadata in accessible formats, broadcasters and content owners can enhance the value of their video, searching their archives based on more than just text.

With so many companies vying for viewer attention, content owners need to be able to publish their content as quickly as possible but finding the right video clips quickly from huge content libraries is no easy feat. Our AI technology, developed in-house, enhanced with technology from a variety of third parties, means HyperSense adds as much information as possible to video content. Whether it's data from objects, audio, faces, or from EPGs and websites, HyperSense provides a cost-efficient way for content owners to integrate AI technology into their workflows and make their video more accessible, said Michel Bais, CEO of Mobile Viewpoint.

The addition of HyperSense to Mobile Viewpoint's product portfolio enhances its ability to support broadcasters and content owners with the end-to-end production and delivery of video. While the complete HyperSense solution, a fully-supported application box which includes AI Indexer, Smart Storage and Video Search works with Mobile Viewpoint LinkMatrix, an online dashboard that allows users to manage their complete live IP-based workflow, HyperSense's AI technology is also available as a cloud-based solution.

Furthermore, Mobile Viewpoint also offers a companion app for HyperSense, where content owners can search for, clip and publish video content in seconds. Both HyperSense, and its companion app, are available for purchase from May 2018.

HyperSense is just one of three new AI-driven products launched by Mobile Viewpoint. Today, the company also announced the launch of NewsPilot and IQ Sports Producer, two new products that automate the low-cost delivery of content from remote locations.
