FOX Sports Wraps Run Airing Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Taking place in two venues, the 2026 production celebrates the 150th Anniversary of the Super Bowl of Dogs'

When the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show concludes this evening in New York City, it will be a bittersweet moment for FOX Sports. The broadcaster has aired the 150-year-old show, the country's second-longest continuously held sports event, since 2017.

Since this is our last dog show, it makes this one more special, says Francisco Contreras, executive director, field operations, FOX Sports. It has been an amazing partnership with the Westminster team. We will miss working with the Super Bowl of Dogs.

For this year's edition, the broadcaster is deploying Game Creek Video Celtic mobile unit for the Agility competition and Prelims at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. According to Contreras, Javits Center isn't necessarily set up with the space, power, or connectivity for an onsite mobile unit, making the effort more challenging.

Having Agility and Prelims at Javits and Group and Best In Show at MSG increased the challenges for FOX Sports production team.Group judging and Best In Show will take place at Madison Square Garden. Game Creek Video Yogi A and Yogi B, the New York Yankees home-show trucks, will handle that production.

The uniqueness of this setup is that, due to MSG having such a busy schedule, we lost our set day there, explains Contreras. In lieu of having a set day at the Garden, we are going to Moonachie Fire House in New Jersey with our full setup and having each vendor set up in the parking lot and fax out all gear and label for a quicker install at MSG. Our MSG setup is going to start with a 1:30 a.m. park and split-shift our crew to accomplish setting up the Best In Show for a one-day set and shoot.

For the first-time ever, FOX Sports is incorporating a drone into its coverage of the dog show via a relationship with Beverly Hills Aerials. We are hoping to get more off-the-course shots and add an element that we have not had before at the dog show, says Contreras.

At the Javits Center, the camera complement for the dog show includes 13 Sony 550 cameras, two slo-mos, one Flycam, and one Megalodon. At MSG, the production boasts five hard cameras, four robotics, four studio build-ups, two M VI handhelds, one RF handheld camera, one Megalodon, and the drone.

Veteran commentator Chris Myers will be joined by judge Jason Hoke in the broadcast booth at MSG. Reporter Jenny Taft will host FS1's primetime coverage of group judging and Best In Show - which begins about 7:30 p.m. ET after a 30-minute pre-show - alongside floor reporter Jamie Little.
