21st Century Fox Names Michael O'Leary Senior Vice President, Global Public Affairs and Policy

NEW YORK, NY - May 10, 2017 - 21st Century Fox today announced that Michael O'Leary has been named to the role of senior vice president. Mr. O'Leary will join the company's Global Public Affairs and Policy group based in Washington, DC, which is led by Executive Vice President Chip Smith.

In his new role, Mr. O'Leary will be a leading voice in support of 21st Century Fox's global advocacy efforts in critical areas including intellectual property, innovation, and market access, as well as helping to define and achieve the company's domestic and international policy priorities.

Michael brings a breadth of experience of the content community to our Public Affairs and Policy team, said Smith. His combined two decades of exposure to the policy-making process and expertise of the most pressing issues facing our community is extensive. We are fortunate to welcome him as a colleague and excited about the strategic insight he will bring to our advocacy efforts.

Mr. O'Leary, who will officially join 21st Century Fox on June 1, was previously the principal at O'Leary Global Solutions, LLC, specializing and providing substantive and strategic counsel to multi-media and communications interests. Prior to starting his own firm, O'Leary worked at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for nine years, where he led the creation of the association's global policy team. As an MPAA senior executive vice president, he oversaw lobbying for international trade agreements, advocated for pro-production tax and fiscal policies, and served as a key architect of the organization's strategy.

Before MPAA, Mr. O'Leary served at the U.S. Department of Justice as deputy chief in the computer crime and intellectual property section and worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs. Before that, he worked as counsel to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for five years, including as chief counsel to the subcommittee on the Constitution.

Mr. O'Leary earned his B.S. from Arizona State University and his JD from Arizona College of Law.
