NAGRA Talks Live Sports Piracy, 4K, Big Data and Innovation at TV Connect London 2017

Cheseaux, Switzerland - March 24, 2017 - How can live sports broadcasters protect their premium content from piracy? What is the impact of 4K, HDR and VR on the pay-TV industry? How much is Big Data being leveraged to improve the pay-TV experience? How is pay-TV innovation adapting to changing viewer behaviors? These questions and more will be addressed by NAGRA, a Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) company, the worlds leading independent provider of content protection and multiscreen television solutions, on Day One of the TV Connect Congress, Wednesday, March 29th, in three separate sessions.

At 12:30pm, in Innovation: Where is the Pay-TV Industry Headed? both Simon Trudelle, Sr. Director Product Marketing at NAGRA and Jon Watts, Managing Partner at MTM London, will address the evolving pay-TV landscape and how innovation is shaping it to adapt to new consumer behaviors. Watching TV-and delivering it to consumers-has changed forever over the past few years, said Trudelle. What does that mean for pay-TV service providers worldwide and how should they innovate to stay relevant? I look forward to sharing the latest insights from the 2017 edition of the Pay-TV Innovation Forum.

At 2 p.m., in the session titled Understanding the Future of User and Network Big Data, Trudelle will explore how pay-TV service providers can and should use actionable data analytics to their advantage and look at what's next for the industry in this field. In an always-connected and all-screen TV market, leveraging data analytics is strategic to stay competitive and drive overall business performance, added Trudelle.

Finally, at 2:30 p.m., Christopher Schouten, Sr. Director of Product Marketing for NAGRA's content protection solutions, will be a featured panellist in Broadcast Innovation in Sport. The session will cover an array of topics affecting live sports broadcasts including how service providers can create immersive viewing experiences across linear and non-linear channels, the impact of 4K, HDR and VR, as well as combatting the threat of piracy head-on and in real -time. Content owners and distributors are faced with an ever-increasing amount of piracy of their premium content. I look forward to addressing the live sports piracy problem as a key consideration for sports rights holders and how they can mitigate both traditional and streaming types of piracy, commented Schouten.
