ales to supply pnger information solution for the Jaipur Metro

Jaipur, 23rd April 2013 Thales has signed a contract with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC), responsible for implementation of the new Jaipur Metro, to supply an advanced passenger information system. This latest contract follows the successful delivery and implementation of the solution for Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the New Delhi Metro network.

The Jaipur Metro is a rapid transit system under construction in the city of Jaipur, India. Once completed, it will be one of the largest metro rail systems after those in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The first line (east-west) will cover 12 km from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar and will have eight elevated and three underground stations. It will be commissioned in 2013.

The Thales passenger information system will be interfaced with the traffic management system and will provide accurate visual and audio information to enhance customer comfort and security. The solution will use a single software platform to enable the Jaipur Metro to generate and distribute real-time traffic-related information across the network. It will include an integrated and synchronised audio passenger announcement system, a visual passenger information system and a time information system to keep passengers informed throughout their journeys, whether on platforms, in trains or at connections with other lines on the network.
