Twitter continues to charge ahead with its live-streaming-sports play, this time partnering with Sky Sports in the UK to present the 24-hour sports-news network's coverage of one of the biggest days in the world soccer calendar, Transfer Deadline Day.
Sky Sports is noted for its Transfer Deadline Day coverage, embedding reporters at all 20 of the English Premier League clubs and providing robust studio analysis of news as it breaks. Now, for the first time, viewers around the globe will be able to watch the production from their Twitter feed.

The heart of Deadline Day is the fantastic reporting team and a newsroom that delivers incredible stories of improbable transfers all football fans are craving, says Dave Gibbs, director, digital, Sky Sports. Our job is to package the fascinating stories across all the platforms we have so that fans can decide the best way for them to follow the news, whether that's watching Sky Sports News HQ, live streaming on Twitter, or across our apps and website.
Sky Sports coverage will be available globally on Tuesday. The network is partnering with Twitter to deliver a global live stream from the Sky Sports Newsroom at 7:00-8:00 a.m. ET, at noon-1 p.m. and during the final hour leading up to the Transfer Deadline, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Twitter has built a custom page on its platform where users can watch the live coverage and read through some of the best of curated Twitter conversations at deadlineday.twitter.com.
We are thrilled to collaborate with Sky Sports to give fans everywhere another way to watch and discuss the day's top rumors and deals as they unfold live, all on Twitter, says Twitter COO Anthony Noto.
Following a highly talked-about season of streaming Thursday Night Football games for the NFL, Twitter has kept its foot on the accelerator with programming partnerships like this one, most notably the deal the social-media giant struck this month with the PGA TOUR.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports will also stream its live Transfer Deadline Day coverage for its viewers in the UK on skysports.com and on the Sky Sports app.
