LIGHT READING, SCTE JOIN FORCES TO CREATE MULTIMEDIA CABLE CONTENT
MAY 18, 2015 (New York, NY, and Exton, PA) Light Reading and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced a groundbreaking partnership to create multimedia content about key cable technology topics, starting with DOCSIS 3.1, IP video, cable Wi-Fi, virtualized CCAP, SDN/NFV, and over-the-top (OTT) video. SCTE will also promote the multimedia program to its membership through its own communication vehicles.
Under the historic deal, SCTE and Light Reading will work together to produce a wide range of multimedia content, including research reports, industry surveys, super webinars, whitepapers, infographics and video series. Light Reading will assume the primary role in producing the portfolio of media materials, with strong content, branding, promotional, speaker and other support from SCTE.
The agreement also calls for the two organizations to join forces in producing and marketing Light Reading's annual series of cable and video conferences, with SCTE providing content, speakers and other materials for the events. In addition, SCTE executives will contribute regular blogs to the Light Reading news site.
"We're tremendously excited about forming this historic partnership with SCTE because they are the leading international professional development, standards, certification and information group in the cable industry," said Light Reading CEO and Founder Steve Saunders. "I can't think of a better partner to help us reach more cable professionals with our world-class content."
"Light Reading's breadth of expertise, industry vision and international reach are extremely complementary to the expanding mission of SCTE and the International Society of Broadband Experts, our global brand," said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE. "We look forward to working with their outstanding team of writers and analysts to develop content and events that amplify the material benefits that SCTE's work brings to the industry."
The Light Reading-SCTE content partnership will kick off with a DOCSIS 3.1 Industry Initiative project, which will consist of a whitepaper and corresponding webinar this spring. Sponsorship opportunities will be available for this program, as well as the other content creation programs created by the two partners.
The list of programs planned for the rest of 2015 includes an IP video transition survey and report, a CCAP Virtualized Super Webinar, an SDN/NFV whitepaper and infographic, a cable Wi-Fi survey with report and findings to be announced at Light Reading's Breakfast Roundtable at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo , a cable Wi-Fi video series filmed at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo and an OTT video infographic. For more information about the various sponsorship opportunities, please contact Todd Marquez, VP of Strategic Accounts, Light Reading, at 720-328-8142 or marquez@lightreading.com.
