T-Mobile Deploys 5G and AI Tools Across 2026 PGA Championship

T-Mobile is serving as a technology partner for the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, deploying 5G connectivity and AI tools across broadcast production, fan-facing apps, and tournament operations.

Our partnership with T-Mobile gives us the tools to deliver a smoother, more interactive Championship thanks to AI-informed insights, wirelessly deployed content capture, enhanced broadcast features and immersive enhancements in the PGA Championships App.

Broadcast

T-Mobile is supporting the CBS Sports broadcast through a 5G private network and Edge Control, connecting high-definition audio and video across the course. CBS Sports' wireless camera deployment includes a 5G-connected camera capable of real-time view switching and remote-controlled fly cameras at the T-Mobile Range, 1st tee, and 18th green.

The PGA Championship Range Show, airing daily Wednesday through Sunday from 12-2 p.m. ET on YouTube and in the PGA Championships app, uses a 4D camera system powered by T-Mobile's network. PGA Digital is using an array of more than 60 5G-connected phones to capture footage from the T-Mobile Range, with a 5G private network connecting six cameras to PGA Production Studios in Frisco, Texas.

Fan App

The PGA Championships app includes Roar Moments for instant video highlights, Seat Finder for locating open seats, and a new PGA Course Companion AI Assistant for navigating the course and answering fan questions.

Operations

T-Mobile has deployed a Smart Operations Command Center, a real-time 3D interface for monitoring crowd movement, entry points, concessions, and connected devices across the venue. The system uses AI to identify operational issues for teams to address. T-Mobile's network also supports ticket scanning, staff connectivity via SuperMobile, and a photojournalism network slice for fast photo and video uploads.

Club Magenta

T-Mobile customers can access Club Magenta at the 15th green, with seating, phone charging, giveaways, drink specials, and appearances from Philadelphia sports personalities including Cooper DeJean and Ryan Howard.
