The Democratic Alliance (DA) has made its trip to Luthuli House. The opposition party was at the ANC's headquarters to hand over a petition with an alleged 500 000 signatures from ordinary South Africans calling for change.
As reported by EWN, the brigade was led by the DA's Gauteng premier, Solly Msimanga alongside John Moodey. The governing party in the province took its opposition to task about the controversial Parliamentary list.
Suspense around ANC party list grows The ANC's party list has been clouded by a fog of scrutiny after certain names that appeared on it were highly criticised by South Africans.

Secretary-general Ace Magashule, implicated in allegations of rampant corruption in the Free State made the list.
Former Home Affairs Minister, Malusi Gigaba, a figure closely-linked with the Gupta family and state capture; Nomvula Mokonyane, the Environmental Affairs Minister whose ties with Bosasa were laid bare at the Zondo commission, also featured prominently in the list.
Integrity commission submits list report fueling speculation The party's integrity commission has concluded its work on the list and, according to Times Live, has submitted it to the leadership of the party for review.
George Mashamba, chairman of the commission, would not go into much detail about what the recommendations made in the report were.
However, it has been rumoured that many officials currently implicated in state capture, including vice president, David Mabuza, Minerals minster and the ANC's national chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, Fikile Mbalula, and others are in the firing line.

Magashule, however, reacted to the developments around the list, saying that no decision is final without the approval of the ANC's Top Six.
The integrity commission is still going to meet the leadership of the ANC. They do have the right to take decisions but you know some of the things we do not know, he said.
Msimanga leads DA brigade to Luthuli House Da supporters, led by Msimanga and Moodey, made it to the ANC headquarters carrying the petition, some dressed in orange overalls, a satirical jab at the party's legal woes.
The premier touched on the ANC's apparent audacity in including people linked to corruption, in their list.
The ANC must do the right thing.
If they are serious about taking SA forward, they must remove people within their ranks who can t be called Honourable because they are implicated in serious crimes like sexual assault and corruption.

Democratic Alliance (@Our_DA) April 17, 2019 ANC spokesperson, Dakota Legoete, upon receiving the petition, thanked ANC cadres for heeding calls from Luthuli House to avoid confronting the DA supporters, in what he says, would have been a violent encounter.
