For the first time in the history of the European Basketball Championship, it will be possible to stream all games at the events. Ljubljana, 5 September - When Telekom Slovenije became a sponsor of EuroBasket 2013, it also took on the role of the tournament's official mobile operator and telecommunications partner. Throughout the whole tournament, from 4 to 22 September, Telekom Slovenije will be providing the fastest, best, and most secure telecommunications services possible at all the venues in Ljubljana, Celje, Koper, and Jesenice. In addition, there will be a first in EuroBasket history: with some handy technical solutions and using its own IP TV network (SiOL TV), Telekom Slovenije will provide the fans with the opportunity to watch the other matches streamed live to the fan zones at all the venues.

Telekom Slovenije set up broadband internet access at all venues using fiber optic connections, and implemented the state of the art technology of the Mobitel LTE/4G network to significantly increase data transfer rates for mobile users. Meanwhile, all SiOL subscribers, regardless of their plan, will be able to watch the games on RTV SLO2 in HD, staying regularly updated about all the games, results, and court-side action. Telekom Slovenije has also provided the necessary telecommunications infrastructure for Slovenian and foreign journalists to report from the venues.

EuroBasket 2013 is one of the biggest sporting events that Slovenia has ever hosted, so Telekom Slovenije prepared for the tournament carefully. Telekom's Director of Marketing Simon Furlan says, Our pre-paid mobile internet offer will be especially attractive to foreign fans, as they will be able to communicate online with no subscription fees. To add to that, at the beginning of September, we became one of the first operators in the world to offer pre-paid mobile internet over LTE, namely through our blisteringly fast Mobitel LTE/4G network. Venues will have special fan zones where foreign visitors can explore Telekom Slovenije's offer.

Sport is something that brings us all together, so as soon as we signed on as sponsors we, too, brought together our SiOL and Mobitel ranges to offer our users the exceptional EuroBasket plan, with unlimited calls and text and multimedia messages to all Slovenian networks.
