Story Highlights
For Spanish-speaking NFL fans, FOX Deportes is in New Orleans all week, providing content from dedicated studio space on Bourbon Street as well as eight hours live from the Caesars Superdome on Super Bowl Sunday. Although the onsite crew is only 17 staffers strong, the broadcaster is making television magic happen.
We're small and mighty, but we're all working as a team, says Enrique Lozano, executive director, productions, FOX Deportes. We all have to chip in whenever we can.
In the Right Spot: FOX Deportes Shares Maison Bourbon With FOX Sports Like FOX Sports, looking to be at the center of Bourbon Street, FOX Deportes is housing its various studio shows at Maison Bourbon, a bar at the corner of Bourbon and St. Peter Streets. Along with FS1 programming, the shows are shot on a higher floor in the building.

Lozano and FOX Deportes Head of Studio Operations, L.A./Executive Director, Operations, Richard Briant began planning for the weeklong festivities eight months ago. It has been an animal trying to get everything together, says Briant. We thought through each element, like chairs for the talent and the desk they'll be working behind.
To bring the culture and vibrancy of the city to viewers watching from home, Maison Bourbon was the ideal place to host the shows. With FOX Sports rolling with the same idea, this partnership has been beneficial for both parties. We work hand in hand and very closely with FOX Sports, adds Briant. They're a great partner.
With a total of 17 onsite, FOX Deportes has a small staff in the Crescent City, but its team in Los Angeles is handling the brunt of the shows via a Home Run Production. With the team in California also integrating shows from the broadcaster's Mexico City studio, the effort has created a large-scale, cross-continental infrastructure.
We're using fiber, LiveU, and our audio flypack to their full potential, Briant explains. We're opting for different technology that's more cost-efficient and allows us to do things that are within our budget and still of high quality.
Full Programming Plate: Camino al Super Bowl, El Entretiempo Headline Onsite Shows On the programming side, ENG crews in New Orleans supplemented broadcasts of NFLeros from Los Angeles from Monday to Wednesday. The show aired from the Bourbon Street set Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, the team will pack up and move to a location at Caesars Superdome.
On Sunday, eight hours of live content begins with Camino Al Super Bowl at noon ET. At 1 p.m., El Entretiempo with Claudia Garcia Mu oz will break down important storylines of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup.Total Sports 360 Especial at 3 p.m. will fold in live reports from both inside and outside the stadium. FOX Deportes Super Bowl LIX Pregame with Landeros, Motta, and Losada airs starting at 4 p.m. FOX Deportes play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia-M rquez, analysts Jaime Motta and Jessi Losada, and sideline reporter Rodolfo Landeros will be on the call of the game at 6:30 p.m. After the game, FOX Deportes Super Bowl LIX Postgame will feature the broadcast team and coverage of the Lombardi Trophy presentation.
Leading the Way: FOX Deportes Takes Pride in Experimenting With Broadcast Tech Through a collaborative relationship with FOX Sports, FOX Deportes has gone first in trying out new technologies and workflows before the English-language network.
We were one of the first to start using Dejero and LiveU for our onsite productions when others weren't ready for it, says Briant. Since the pandemic, we and everyone else are using it full bore. In addition to tech, we try to broadcast our own authentic shows.
Facing the logistical challenges of a major event like the Super Bowl, FOX Deportes' smaller production and operations team relies on a shared goal: serving up the best content for the audience.
We have to get along well together since there aren't a lot of different networks and production companies that are in their own silos like us, notes Briant. [Enrique's] role carries over to mine, and mine carries over to his, and we hope that [dynamic inspires] everyone on our team. They all do whatever it takes to get the job done.
