CABLELABS PRESIDENT AND CEO PHIL MCKINNEY, LIBERTY GLOBAL EVP AND CTO BALAN NAIR TO BE GUEST LECTURERS AT 2015 SCTE-TUCK LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
MARCH 17, 2015 (Exton, PA) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth today announced that Phil McKinney, President and CEO of CableLabs , and Balan Nair, Executive Vice President and CTO of Liberty Global, will be featured presenters during the SCTE-Tuck Executive Leadership Program, which will be conducted Sunday, April 26 through Friday, May 1 on the Dartmouth College campus in Hanover, N.H.
In back-to-back sessions April 28-29, McKinney and Nair will provide their insights into nurturing and managing the innovation and deployment of technologies that can drive new opportunities for the cable industry. With program participants as the audience, the two executives will engage in one-on-one discussions with members of the SCTE-Tuck faculty. Additionally, they will participate in Q&A sessions with program participants, who come from a broad range of positions within the cable operator, vendor and programming communities.
"The leadership, organizational processes and strategic thinking needed to bring new technology ideas to mass deployment and monetization are central elements of the SCTE-Tuck program," said Lindsay Johnston, Senior Vice President, Operations for SCTE. "We believe that the generous commitments of Phil McKinney and Balan Nair will expedite the links between the lessons of SCTE-Tuck and the technological opportunities that are expected to drive continued growth in our industry."
Now in its fifth year, the SCTE-Tuck program annually attracts an elite group that includes senior directors, vice presidents, senior and executive vice presidents and C-level executives from across the cable industry. The immersive curricula offer opportunities for intensive learning and peer interaction for executives representing cable system operators, vendors, industry associations and other organizations. Attendees gave last year's program a 4.9 rating out of a possible 5.0.
Guest lecturers at SCTE-Tuck programs have included Michael Powell, President and CEO of NCTA and former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission; Neil Smit, President and CEO of Comcast; Michael Angelakis, Vice Chairman and CFO of Comcast; and Jerry Kent, Chairman and CEO of Suddenlink. The late Glenn Britt, Chairman and CEO of Time Warner Cable, began the tradition of industry guest lecturers for the SCTE-Tuck program in 2011.
Applications for the SCTE-Tuck program are available for qualified executives in the United States and abroad. The program leverages the faculty and resources of the Tuck School of Business, which is consistently ranked among the world's Top 10 business schools by Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and U.S. News & World Report.
