AFDA Johannesburg offers -week Pro Editing Short courses for Industry Profeionals

The South African Film and Television industry has grown significantly over the last 20 years, this dynamic growth together with exponential shifts in technology, local and global competition and the emergence of online platforms and business opportunities has created a need for short courses.

The courses are aimed at upgrading existing skills, switching areas of professional focus and developing new skills for opportunities and challenges of the future.

3-week Editing Short Course

Dates: 27th June - 15th July 2016 / 19th September - 07th October 2016

Venue: AFDA Johannesburg (Edit Suites)

Course duration: Full-time 3 weeks, Monday-Friday

Objectives of the course: Editing refresher (Da Vinci Lite and Final Cut Pro 7): The objectives are to update current editors in other software programmes, to introduce new editors to the basic skills, and to supplement both groups with a basic skills orientation on other postproduction techniques (a brief overview in sound and visual effects available on Final Cut). The postproduction workflow and data management will be also be covered.

The minimum requirement for an AFDA Pro course is 5 years of experience in the industry or a relevant degree in the field.
