Sonnet to Sponsor Irvine Barclay Theatre Presentation of Michael Clark Company's come, been and gone'
IRVINE, CA-October 9, 2014-Sonnet Technologies today announced that it will once again sponsor a marquee presentation at Irvine Barclay Theatre - the U.S. premiere of the Michael Clark Company dance production come, been and gone on Oct. 11 and 12.
For several years now, we've had the pleasure of sponsoring outstanding performances at Irvine Barclay Theatre, one of California's most imaginative and prestigious venues for the performing arts, said Robert Farnsworth, CEO of Sonnet Technologies. This year's production promises to be spectacular, and it's one more example of how the much the arts enrich our community and its quality of life.
The Michael Clark Company's critically acclaimed production come, been and gone delivers a presentation full of wit and style, featuring the music of David Bowie and Lou Reed. The presentation was conceived by Michael Clark, who chose to become a choreographer believing that actions speak louder than words. He creates work that combines his classical integrity with a more complex, contemporary sensibility, embracing virtue and vice, abandon and control, grace and embarrassment. He is renowned for his legendary collaborations with bands, fashion designers, and visual artists including Wire, Bodymap, Leigh Bowery, Trojan, and Sarah Lucas.
Opened in 1990, Irvine Barclay Theatre has developed into one of Californias most imaginative performing arts venues. The theater is operated by an independent nonprofit organization in an innovative public/private partnership with the City of Irvine and the University of California, Irvine. Over its nearly 25-year history, the theater has developed a reputation for wide-ranging programming in the fields of contemporary dance, music, and theater arts. Performances take place in the 756-seat Cheng Hall, known for its intimate atmosphere, excellent sightlines, and superb acoustics. Irvine's Barclay Theatre and its diverse presentations and community services are made possible by contributions from individuals and corporate sponsorships from companies including Sonnet.
