GoPro Aletes Go Big at X Games Brazil

GoPro Congratulates its Athletes for their Performances in Foz Do Iguacu

SAN MATEO, CA (April 22, 2013)- GoPro, maker of the world's most versatile camera and producer of today's most engaging content, congratulates its athletes who conquered X Games Foz do Iguacu this weekend. GoPro athletes competed in every event at X, scoring heaps of medals and creating incredible content in the process. Sixteen-year-old Mitchie Brusco made history on the inaugural night of competition, landing the first-ever varial 900 during Skateboard Big Air. The newest addition to the GoPro Skate team, Sean Malto, took home Silver in Street League competition, while Brazilian Pedro Barros scored his third Skate Park Gold in front of his countrymen in a climactic finale to the Skate category. Saturday afternoon, Skateboard Vert veteran Bucky Lasek dominated against his competitors amidst the most stunning X Games setting to date, winning Gold with the waterfalls of Iguacu behind him. Lasek entered the final seeded in fourth place, but shot into the lead on his first of five runs.

In two-wheel action, Chad Kagy rode away from BMX Big Air with a well-deserved silver medal Friday night under the lights, while Steve McCann secured Bronze on the ramp in BMX Vert. Over on the dirt course, Step Up king Ronnie Renner added to his ever-growing stack of hardware with a Silver medal in the final, but it was friend of GoPro Bryce Hudson that pushed the bar a foot higher than Renner to secure Gold. Earlier in the day, Red Bull KTM's Taddy Blazusiak laid siege upon the Enduro X course, handily capturing the top step of the podium and yet another Gold medal for two-wheel GoPro athletes. In the final hours of an epic X Games Brazil, new recruit Wes Agee thrilled the packed grandstands in Freestyle Moto, taking home the Bronze medal. Never ones to miss the spotlight, the GoPro Bomb Squad dropped in from the skies just before the FMX final to present the Brazilian flag to the amazing fans.
