Rascular Expands its Application-Focussed Control Technology at IBC 2014 03 Sep 2014

Rascular, the leading supplier of PC-based multi-device control, has today announced additional functionality for its control technology, enhancing its application-focussed solutions.

From master control to disaster recovery playout to manual control of Harmonic's CiAB solution ChannelPort , Rascular's PC-based control technology allows broadcasters, OB suppliers and playout providers to think differently about what they can achieve. Via user-defined panels, it can be used to control complex broadcast systems at the touch of a button.

Rascular's multi-application product Helm now supports Grass Valley's Densite (previously Miranda's) modular products, giving fast access to card functions at the touch of a button. Alongside numerous back-end upgrades, Helm can also control Blackmagic Videohubs, Grass Valley native protocol routers and Sierra Video's Aspen router range.

The latest version of RouteMaster, Rascular's powerful and flexible PC-based router control system, is also on show. It now includes support for hardware control panels from Blackmagic, Nevion and Sierra. Router support has also been increased to include: Blackmagic Videohub; Grass Valley native protocol; and Sierra Video Aspen. It's also now possible to select router groups from web panels. RouteMaster can also handle router stacking: combining multiple independent routers to form a single, multilayer router.

Using RouteMaster Web Panels, operators can control routers from computers, tablets and even mobile phones. Web panels can be fully customised for appearance and function using the intuitive drag-and drop designer. Use of the latest HTML5 and Javascript standards allows panels to work with all major browsers on all major platforms.
