Mimir is the cloud-native media production platform built for teams that need to move media fast across live, archive, web, social, and broadcast workflows. At IBC 2026, Mimir will show how its production and collaboration platform is evolving with agent-ready workflows, MCPs, open APIs, integrations and increasingly powerful browser-based production tools to meet a media reality that values flexibility above all else.
See Mimir in Hall 7, Stand 7.A53 for a walkthrough of how teams can move from media chaos to searchable, editable, publishable content without adding unnecessary handoffs, downloads, or infrastructure.
Mimir Editor expands browser-based production from cutting to finished packagesPreviously known as Mimir Cutter Enhanced, the change to Mimir Editor reflects how users' needs have grown beyond straightforward cutting and sequence creation. The original Mimir Cutter remains available for customers who rely on its streamlined cutting workflow.
Mimir Editor is a browser-based video editor in the same environment where teams already ingest, search, manage and enrich their content.
Available in beta, Mimir Editor brings a growing set of core tools used in professional video editing into the platform, including multiple video tracks, transitions, audio controls, image and video overlays, and full-sequence preview.
At IBC, Mimir will demonstrate workflows combining scheduled live recordings, growing-proxy editing, and editable graphics so teams can move from finding incoming content to editing, rendering and delivery without repeatedly transferring media or switching between disconnected systems. This makes it easier to create branded packages in different versions for broadcast, web and social without leaving Mimir.
Mimir Cutter began as a fast way to turn source material into a usable sequence. As customers brought more of their production into Mimir, the need grew to handle full editing workflows in different input and output formats, graphics, and delivery in the same flow, says Steinar S reide, CTO, Mimir.
Mimir Editor reflects that evolution. It is about enabling teams to complete more of their everyday production in the browser, while continuing into a craft editor only when a project requires it. The beta will help us shape the next stage around real customer workflows.
Faster sports production while the action is still liveHigh-volume sports production brings together multiple live and growing recordings, social clips and still images from online archives and NAS-based storage, often across video formats including MXF, MOV and MP4.
Mimir supports scheduled live recordings and growing proxy editing, helping teams start building packages while capture continues. One customer is using Mimir for highlight editing during high-volume sports production, ingesting material from 120 active live feeds into Mimir with minimal delay.
High-resolution media can remain within existing production infrastructure until the required material is retrieved for rendering or playout. Assistant producers and editors can begin selecting shots and creating packages earlier, without waiting for recordings to finish or moving complete high-resolution files before work begins, saving time and publishing more content faster.
Within Mimir, teams can now combine live and archive material, including mixed HDR and SDR footage, with images and graphics in the same timeline. HDR-aware preview, editing, and rendering reduce the need to convert or prepare each asset separately before work begins. Together with growing use of proxy editing and timeline graphics, this keeps production moving from live recording to finished content in a single connected workflow.
From AI-powered discovery to one layer for storage, metadata, and AI orchestration Mimir has always been AI-vendor agnostic, supporting the transcription, translation, recognition, summarization, and semantic discovery services that work best for each team.
Mimir's open APIs, webhooks, embeddable components, plugins and Developer MCP give customers and partners the freedom to shape the platform around their workflows. With AI development tools, ideas can become working applications in minutes, from custom search and publishing experiences, to dashboards, provenance checks and operational tools.
Mimir provides the building blocks; what comes next is shaped by what the workflow teams want to create. Unifying content, metadata and orchestration of AI into a single layer offers workflow efficiency that cannot be replicated in unconnected systems.
