IBC 2026: Blackmagic Design Releases DaVinci Resolve 21.1

Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve 21.1, a free update available now through the Blackmagic Design website. The release adds new AI tools, workflow improvements, and expanded format support across the Cut, Edit, Fusion, Color, and Fairlight pages.

AI Features

New AI-powered tools include IntelliTrack, which uses machine learning to track objects and apply effects across timelines; Magic Mask 2.0 with improved edge detection for cleaner subject isolation; and AI-assisted dialogue replacement for automated lip-sync matching. The Fairlight page adds AI-powered noise reduction and room tone matching.

Edit and Cut Page

New editing features include multicam audio monitoring improvements, expanded metadata support for clip organization, and a redesigned subtitle editor with support for additional caption formats. The Cut page adds new trim modes and an improved source tape workflow.

Color Page

Color page updates include a new HDR Palette for tone mapping across display targets, expanded LUT management with folder-based organization, and improved Resolve Color Science for more accurate color reproduction on supported displays.

Fusion

Fusion updates include a new 3D particle system, improved rendering performance for complex node graphs, and expanded support for USD-based assets.

Format and Codec Support

DaVinci Resolve 21.1 adds support for additional camera formats including new Sony and Canon codec variants, expanded ProRes RAW support on Windows, and improved Blackmagic RAW processing performance.
