SUDDENLINK'S TERRY CORDOVA RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF SCTE BOARD; TONY WERNER, CHRISTINE WHITAKER, NICK SEGURA ELECTED TO EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

SEPT. 22, 2014 (Denver, CO) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that Terry Cordova, executive vice president and CTO of Suddenlink Communications, has been re-elected as chairman of the board for the upcoming 2014-'15 term.

At a meeting here in conjunction with SCTE Cable-Tec Expo , the board elected a full slate of officers for the coming year. Cordova is joined on the 2014-'15 SCTE Board's Executive Committee by:

Vice Chairman: Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO, Comcast Cable;

Treasurer: Christine Whitaker, group vice president and Chief Learning Officer, Time Warner Cable; and

Secretary: Nick Segura, manager of network engineering, Charter Communications.

During the meeting, the Board thanked Mike LaJoie, executive president and CTO of Time Warner Cable, for his service, including two years as chair. Bill Warga, vice president, technology and a member of the Chief Architecture Group for Liberty Global, has been appointed to replace LaJoie on the SCTE Board.

"The SCTE Board of Directors' commitment and guidance are reflected in the creation of our Corporate Alliance and Energy 2020 programs, our new international presence and a surge in activity at the chapter level," said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE. "I'd like to thank Mike LaJoie and our outgoing secretary, Jim Hughes, for their tireless support, and to welcome Bill Warga to the Board. I look forward to working with Terry Cordova, the rest of the Executive Committee and the entire Board of Directors as we expand the size and scope of our contributions to the industry in the year ahead."

Following election of its officers today in Denver, the 2014-'15 SCTE Board of Directors conducted its first board meeting. The 2014 edition of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo , the Society's flagship event, continues through Thursday, Sept. 25.
