NBA TV will televise up to five USA Basketball World Championship Team matchups during the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women taking place in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey, beginning with a Group Phase matchup between the USA and China on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. ET. Coached by University of Connecticut women's head coach and Hall of Famer Geno Auriemma, the USA's star-studded roster includes Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner, Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore and Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi, as well as the USA's only four-time World Championship Team member Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm. The USA team is the favorite to win after finishing a perfect 9-0 and taking home the gold in the previous FIBA World Championship held in the Czech Republic in 2010 and an 8-0 mark and gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games.
