Moved by 2 Filhos de Francisco, the hit motion picture that portrayed Brazilian country singers Zez Di Camargo and Luciano s story, as they overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to become superstars, in 2007 author Paulo Coelho called his friend Fernando Viana to talk about the film. This chance occurrence sparked the idea of making a movie based on the life of one of the world s best-selling authors. Six years later, production on N o Pare na Pista: A Melhor Hist ria de Paulo Coelho has just wrapped, after some filming was done in Spain on July 2nd. Previously, filming took place in Rio de Janeiro, with support from Filme Rio-Rio Film Commission.

Filming was done over two weeks in Spain, after eight weeks of shooting in Rio de Janeiro, from April 23rd on. Eighty percent of the picture takes place in this city , says Carolina Kotscho, who produced the film along with Dama Filmes I na de Maceo and Babel Films Ang lica Huete. Because it s a period film showing Paulo Coelho s trajectory before he became world-famous, we had to shut down some points in the city and FR-RFC was awesome in guaranteeing that . Filming was done in locations such as the Armaz m do Senado bar, Teatro Odisseia, Nossa Senhora das Dores Hospital, Cine iris, Col gio Pedro II, Pal cio Gustavo Capanema, the Rio-Niter i bridge, Santa Cruz dos Militares church, Leme and Urca beaches, Paquet s Yacht Club, Mans o das Heras and the C rculo Militar club. Location shooting was also done at Avenida Presidente Ant nio Carlos, Imprensa and Debret streets and Almirante Barroso avenue.

J lio Andrade, first seen as Gonzaguinha in 2012 s Gonzaga de Pai Para Filho, will portray the author in the feature, which is scheduled for an early-2014 release. Paulo Coelho s story is and amazing one, with all the conflict and drama a great film must have. I believe Paulo s audience will recognize itself there, specially because his work is very autobiographical, but even those who don t know him or don t like his work will identify with the film , believes Carolin Kotscho. It s not a magical story, everything that could have gone wrong in a person s life did go wrong in Paulo Coelho s, but he s the kind of guy that never gives up, that moves on toward his dream, and that aspect always fascinated me, since our first talk . Besides Rafael Andrade, who shares the title role with his brother J lio, the cast includes Fabiana Gugli, Enrique D az, Fab ula Nascimento, Let cia Colin, Lucci Ferreira and Spanish actors Nancho Novo and Paz Vega.
