Belarusian providers are to store user browsing history from January 1, 2016 17.03.2015

The procedure on the formation and storage of user browsing history has been approved. The corresponding resolution of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus 6 of February 18, 2015 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The document states that Internet service providers will be required to develop and store relevant data about user browsing history using the hardware-software complex.

Providers are to keep record of the following data about users, including individuals as well as individual entrepreneurs: number and date of the contract for the provision of telecommunications services; surname, first name, patronymic name (if any); user address or Internet subscriber terminal equipment address; data to determine (identify) the user of Internet services or subscriber terminal equipment; MAC - address or identification number of the terminal equipment of the Internet subscribers of cellular mobile communication; for subscribers of cellular mobile communication network - details of the identity document (its title, series, number, date of issue and the name of the state authority issuing the document).

As for legal entities the following data are to be stored: number and date of the contract for the provision of telecommunications services; name (company name) of the legal entity and legal address; Internet subscriber terminal equipment address; data to determine (identify) the user of Internet services or subscriber terminal equipment; MAC - address or identification number of the terminal equipment of the Internet subscribers of cellular mobile communication.

Besides, providers are to keep the data about all telecommunication services, activated by the user of Internet services, as well as the date, connections start and end time, internal and external IP-address and ports of subscriber terminal equipment, domain name or IP-address and port of the Internet resource used by the subscriber of Internet service, the amount of data sent and received.

Internet service providers are required to keep record of user browsing history for one year since the day of the provision of Internet services.

The resolution comes into force on January 1, 2016.
