Rotolight scores highly in TLCI Test!

The Rotolight LED Lighting range was recently put through it's paces by former BBC Engineer Alan Roberts, co-creator of the Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) which is fast becoming the most accepted standard for gauging the quality of broadcast lighting.

Rotolight's Bi Colour V2 and soon to be released Rotolight NEO both placed in the top category with scores of 86 and 85 respectively out of a possible score of 100 Tested at mid point (4400K). Any score above 85 is categorised as the best lighting system where Errors are so small that a colourist would not consider correcting them!

Alan Roberts, and the EBU have worked together to create a new system that offers further clarity on the quality of LED Lighting, enabling DoP's, Cinematographers and Broadcasters to create optimum results. CRI or Colour Rendering Index' is a system that can offer unreliable results of the lighting spectrum. The TLCI is the solution, by analysing the overall spectrum of light from the source and looking at the performance in the context of television, it can offer a true reading.
