Powered by IP, Broadcast Pix Is Integrating Production Beyond the Switcher at NAB 2016

Billerica, Massachusetts April 18, 2016 Broadcast Pix will showcase advances in IP-based workflows including IP support within its integrated production switchers, new BPCommand IP-based production interfaces, and new BPNet IP workflow and cloud-based media management software during the 2016 NAB Show (Booth SL7627), which runs April 18-21 in Las Vegas, Nev.

As a company, Broadcast Pix offers broad-based support for IP workflows and protocols including Aspen, NDI, SMPTE 2022-6, and RTSP. Its platforms have built-in flexibility to enable support for other emerging IP technologies as they become available for video contribution.

Granite , Broadcast Pix's large-scale integrated production switcher, now offers a configurable I/O card option that can be customized using Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) modules. Each I/O card can support up to 11 inputs and one key, as well as six outputs. The modules enable facilities to precisely tailor their I/O options to suit both current requirements and future needs. Granite SFPs offer options to add support for SMPTE 2022-6 and ASPEN IP transport formats, as well as fiber and HDMI audio/video connectivity, to future-proof the system for IP-based production.

Broadcast Pix has also announced new IP-enabled configurations of its Flint integrated production switcher, in addition to existing IP network capability in Mica and Roadie switchers. The new Flint IP options support ingest of multiple NDI inputs, output to NDI-compliant devices, and ingest of RTSP video streams from IP cameras.

Broadcast Pix has expanded its lineup of IP-based control surfaces with BPCommand , which offers configurable, browser-based live production control interfaces that are specifically tailored to the needs of government meetings, houses of worship, and education applications. BPCommand makes professional live production easy to control, even for non-technical personnel, enabling them to execute sophisticated professional production sequences at the touch of a button.

Announced last month, BPNet software provides access to the company's secure, cloud-based media management and collaborative solutions. The BPNet workflow management service unifies video, control, and data the three pillars of Broadcast Pix IP production and offers monitoring, transcoding, distribution, storage, and sharing of user files and content. BPNet allows Flint, Granite, Mica, and Roadie users to reach beyond the BP ecosystem for real-time collaboration over IP.
