Ventures subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 acquires a majority interest in billiger-mietwagen.de
Unterf hring, April 11, 2013 - SevenVentures, the ventures arm of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, is bolstering its digital portfolio by acquiring a majority interest in billiger-mietwagen.de, the biggest web portal for rental car rate comparisons in Germany. Christian Mahnke, who founded the company headquartered in Freiburg und Cologne in 2003, will continue to serve as the CEO. The acquisition is pending, subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office.
Users of this rate-comparison portal can compare rental car rates worldwide and secure the best rates directly by using an integrated booking option. As one of the few providers in this segment, billiger-mietwagen.de stands to benefit from the strong TV and online reach, not to mention the marketing and branding power, of the media concern. That will enable the company to accelerate its growth significantly.
