Feature film Rogue gs into development

Rogue is based on true life events with a fictional outcome. It follows a story about a possible terrorist attack in South Africa. Following the 1998 United States Embassy bombings in Tanzania an Al-Qaeda affiliated convict Khalfan Khamis Mohammed was arrested in Cape Town, South Africa after flying here as part of his escape plan on October 5, 1999. He was then handed over to the FBI after a series of interrogations by the South African authorities to stand trial in USA.

As part of our fictional contribution in the story, a retired counter terrorism unit agent Jack Olson of the Special Forces Brigade of South Africa made the arrest at the Cape Town international airport in 1999. Jack shortly lost the lives of people he loved most in the hands of Al-Qaeda affiliates. After a bombing at a busy market that claimed casualties, Jack was forced to come out of retirement when a video surfaced online that they request an immediate extradition and release of Khalfan Khamis Mohammed from a ADX Florence or they will give the South African government the 9/11 they'll always remember.

The film will be set in both urbanized areas and crowded informal settlements and townships in Johannesburg to support fast paced actions sequences in place for it.

It follows standard investigation procedure in the Special Forces brigade offices and how they deal with matters of national security.

It was discovered that the polices specialized unit, Crimes Against the State (CATS) and the State Security Agency (SSA) have uncovered Al-Qaeda-linked military training camps operating in South Africa in Erasmia, East of Pretoria and Tsitsikamma. State intelligence agencies started monitoring the activities soon after the World Trade Centre attack on September 11, 2001 but ceased their surveillance in 2010.

Rogue's fictional plot sees the surveillance on Operation Kanu taken to the next level after it was abruptly halted after a decade long operation at the beginning of 2010 under yet-unexplained circumstances.
