BUSY SUMMER CONTINUES FOR HBS - 10/09/2014 September traditionally brings a Back to School' mood, but for HBS the work never stopped over the summer months - with the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil followed closely by the commencement of the 2014-15 French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 campaigns as well as the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup Canada 2014.

HBS began a seventh consecutive season of collaboration with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) on 1 August, the Ligue 2 season commencing a mere three weeks after the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil . Ligue 1 started a week later with Paris Saint-Germain's visit to Stade de Reims on 8 August.

Media Management at venues is one of several roles carried out by HBS for the LFP, including quality control, webserver access and broadcast consultancy.

HBS takes care of overall quality control for match feeds and oversees their delivery to the LFP's media rights holders. Meanwhile, an HBS-implemented webserver facilitates access to the vast wealth of footage amassed over the course of the season. At venues, Media Managers are on hand to coordinate media operations at each match.

Furthermore, HBS provides consultancy to the LFP with regard to the broadcast set-up and overlay at each Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 stadium. HBS contract with the LFP covers the entirety of the L1 and L2 seasons as well as the Coupe de la Ligue and the French League Cup.

Meanwhile, on the international front, the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup Canada 2014 began on 5 August, just 22 days after the FIFA World Cup trophy was lifted by Germany in the Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. Not only a major project in itself, the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup Canada 2014 was also a good opportunity to dry run procedures and operations in the North American country ahead of next summer's FIFA Womens World Cup Canada 2015.

Contested at four venues, three of the host cities - Edmonton, Montreal and Moncton - will again be used in June and July 2015 when HBS returns to Canada to provide the host broadcast for a third consecutive FIFA Women's World Cup.

With the International Broadcast Coordination Centre (IBCC) located at the Montreal Olympic Stadium, the possibility to experience and take valuable lessons from an HB in the host country of a future event is always a welcome opportunity. However, Canada can already be considered familiar territory for HBS - with the FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 already listed on the company CV.

It was a very successful operation, delivered to the high standard we expect, explained Project Leader Peer Seitz. It was also a good opportunity to acquaint ourselves with some of the stadiums and facilities we will be revisiting next year. We were able to build a good relationship with the LOC, which is very important ahead of an important event like the FIFA Womens World Cup Canada 2015.
