International Content Executive

To acquire international television programmes that will appeal to the channel's target market, in order to attract audiences and ensure network competitiveness. Liaising with distributors, and suppliers of programmes for non- scripted content both local and international, Negotiate the best price within approved budget, for the best content

Assisting the Manager in crafting a movie acquisition strategy, pricing benchmarks, monitor trends and assist in creating best practice procedures and guidelines

To view programme screeners and identify programme suitability with regard to attracting audiences and revenue potential in line with the channel's needs and positioning

Identify compelling content for long term plans, and assist channels with strategic scheduling ideas based on performance in other territories

Liaising with distributors on content acquired and assisting in follow-ups till delivery, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures

Assess and analyse performance of Licensed Content with channels, and recommend way forward

Clear understanding of Channel's programming strategy and positioning and acute knowledge of the broadcast landscape both locally and internationally

Interface with Programming, Scheduling, Marketing and Sales and participate in Sales initiatives to optimize brand equity for acquired content

Dissemination of information to all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally

Keeping accurate records throughout the negotiating process giving status reports the channels

Degree in Communication/Media studies/Journalism or a relevant qualification in Broadcast Management

Above average presentation skills

Good Negotiation and Communication skills

Ability to analyse research and monitor trends and influence strategy

Financial and Marketing knowledge is essential

Knowledge of broadcasting and procurement policies is required

3-5 Years programming experience

Ability to build and maintain good relationships with all local and international stakeholders

Computer literacy is essential (MS Office, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Advanced MS Excel)

Willingness to travel when necessary and work irregular hours over weekends

Self Efficiency and well developed sense of responsibility.

Ability to communicate with different levels in the value chain

Commitment, reliability and the ability to work in an increasingly competitive environment.
