The Digital Studio Award was presented to Vizrt from Digital Studio Magazine for Outstanding Achievement in Workflow for the Al Arab News Channel project.
The Prestigious Annual Digital Studio Award for Outstanding Achievement in workflow was awarded to Vizrt for their implementation of the Viz Mosart newscast automation system at the Al Arab news channel. For the very first time in the region, Al Arab created a fully automated news production workflow relying on the Viz Mosart newscast automation system to manage the entire process, offering a new benchmark in performance and efficiency in live studio production.
Vizrt's Viz Mosart news studio automation system was designed to be the backbone for live news operations at Al Arab. Al Arab had a very ambitious idea of how they wanted the broadcast to look and function, which included a lot of visual and physical components timed perfectly together. The workflow envisaged Viz Mosart tying together the various discrete production tools and systems in the production chain, including the vision mixer, audio mixer, video server, routers, camera robotics and studio lighting. The show producers retain full control of the show while remaining focussed on the story content without having to immerse themselves into the technical details. When stories in the rundown are changed, all the technical information as well as the content moves with it. Even though this may change auxiliary outputs, ME-rows, graphics and video ports - it's all "not to worry" for the operators. Viz Mosart adds a high level of consistency to broadcasting, vastly reducing errors. Opening scenes that include generic content such as video and graphics, will be consistent even though some content changes in the last seconds before going to air.
Ease of use, both at the content side as well as the operational levels, was paramount and was easily achieved due to Viz Mosart's centralised control structure. The system was designed to be highly reliable and robust-key qualities needed for a system that is central to the entire production process.
