_wige unveils new HD OB truck HD_two and adds LDX series to camera inventory

(31/05/2015) _wige MEDIA AG will deploy its new HD OB truck HD_two for the first time at the Lausitzring from 29 to 31 May for the second DTM race meetings of the 2015 season. HD_two will handle the production of the national broadcast by S dwestrundfunk (SWR), with equipment including three wireless cameras, a separate highlights edit suite and a range of audio technologies. The vehicle, assembled on the chassis of the company's previous 6 truck and comprehensively rebuilt over the last few months to meet the latest standards, incorporates a video production set, an audio production set and a multi-purpose area for tasks such as editing and secondary production.

HD_two is equipped for 12 camera systems two in super-slow motion and for four EVS production servers. A Lawo mc 56mkII audio system permits multiple Dolby mixes, with the capability of producing a variety of signals. The infrastructure as a whole is future-oriented for 3G signals throughout. An additional production space in the support vehicle may be used as an edit station or an additional production set.

Following the introduction of OB truck HD_one in February 2014, _wige is expanding its HD capacity with HD_two to service demanding live productions even more comprehensively. Grass Valley LDX Series added to camera inventory _wige has also expanded its equipment inventory by acquiring a number of new HD camera systems, investing in LDX Series cameras from manufacturer Grass Valley. This product line is an ideal complement to _wige's existing infrastructure and can be applied in a wide variety of situations.

As part of the investment the _wige portfolio now includes an LDX86 camera. This will be offered on the market when not assigned to in-house productions and is available to customers effective immediately on an equipment hire basis.

The innovative six-fold super-slow motion camera is deployed in sports coverage to generate footage not currently possible with conventional super-slow motion cameras. The LDX86 provides an attractive alternative, especially when covering very high speed sporting disciplines.
