Eric Cooney, President and CEO of SAM Tim Thorsteinson resigns as CEO, for personal reasons, following this position two for two years and have driven the fusion of Snell and Quantel which resulted in the new company.

The Board of Directors of Snell Advanced Media)SAM) has been appointed as new President and CEO Eric Cooney. At the same time, Tim Thorsteinson resigns as CEO, for personal reasons, following this position two for two years and have driven the fusion of Snell and Quantel which resulted in the new company.

Thorsteinson will continue advising the Board of Directors as part of a succession plan. It will also remain as a shareholder in SAM. Thorsteinson led change of SAM based on a clear strategy of development of new products, combined with the strengthening of the presence of sales teams in major markets.

Cooney has over twenty years of experience in the technology, media and telecommunications industry. The latest companies that have had the talent of this Executive include Tandberg and Internap, which became its CEO transforming both strategy and driving sales and customer service. In the case of Tandberg he was commissioned to lead its merger with the Ericsson group in 2007.

Cooney has ensured that "Snell Advanced Media has seen good growth in recent years, in what has been a challenging market impacted by the changing nature of the consumption of media by end users. Based in Newbury, Berkshire, SAM employs almost 600 people in offices in Europe, America, Middle East and Asia Pacific. With a growth of 20%, its shareholders backed by LDC, the Lloyds Banking Group private equity arm.
