Commenting on the latest figures Clare Duignan, Managing Director, RT Radio said: PPI National Station of the Year Radio 1 is the major weekday winner. The book-on-book gains, almost across the full day, indicate firmly that Radio 1 is Ireland's favourite radio station for news and current affairs, general interest, sport, and music programming.

Over on lyric, stability at 3% weekday reach is very encouraging. Marty continues to build listeners at breakfast, while the drivetime slot on lyric has seen a gain in this book.

She continued: RT Commercial (Radio 1, 2fm, lyric) share is up at 31.8% (+0.2pts), a strong showing in a highly competitive environment.

RT Radio 1 has made gains to its weekday schedule, with book-on-book consolidation across key slots. The latest set of listenership figures sees the station retain its position as Ireland's most-listened-to radio station, with a weekly reach of 1,322,000. Radio 1 is the only station in the country with a weekly reach of over 1,000,000.

Jim Jennings, Head of Radio 1, says: It's a solid book for Radio 1, and especially gratifying to see such strong gains in key daytime shows, starting with Morning Ireland, and continuing right through to Mooney. Again, we see some churn at the weekends. Encouragingly, despite some losses book-on-book Mary Wilson's Drivetime is up 15,000 year-on-year. News at One also records a very impressive gain of 19,000 year-on-year.

RT lyric fm continues to maintain national daily reach at 3%, with book-on-book growth for key programmes.
