Applications for the Position of Assessor and Course Designer for the Sediba Screenwriting Training & Development Programme

04 September 2014: The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is looking for applicants to fill the position of Assessor and Course Designer for the Sediba Screenwriting Training & Development Programme. The NFVF funds and manages the Sediba Screenwriting Training & Development Programme for Narrative Fiction Screenwriters, Script Editors and Documentary Filmmakers and Film Producers.

The Assessor/Course Designer will be responsible for; assisting the NFVF obtain full accreditation with MICT Seta on the above mentioned training programme/s, assessing the qualification according to SETA requirements and adapting existing learning material or creating new material where necessary to design a coherent qualification that aligns to unit standards.

Responsibilities:

Align current training material with SAQA unit standards at NQF level 7

Create additional training material to cover gap areas

Design the overall course structure and curriculum

Produce the required documents for the qualification accreditation and assessment process including:

Assessment Strategy

Assessment Matrix

Learner Guide

Facilitator Guide

Assessor Guide

Portfolio of Evidence Procedure

Create additional assessments and tools where required

Assist with site compliance

Provide Seta related advice and guidelines

Conduct on-going assessments according to SAQA requirements after accreditation has been granted

Assist with moderation and verification procedures after accreditation has been granted

Take into consideration the NFVF's important targets for efficient service delivery and public funding accountability

Education and Experience

Registered facilitator/assessor for National Certificate: Scriptwriting Level 7 Qualification

Relevant postgraduate qualifications in scriptwriting

Facilitator/assessor experience in film, TV and scriptwriting

Experience in curriculum and training material development in film and television

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of the Media Information and Communication Technologies Sector and Training Authority (MICT Seta)

Project management experience

Negotiation skills

Independent operator

Attention to detail

Training facilitation knowledge

Willing to travel

Relevant experience

Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Planning and organizing

Decision-making

Adaptability

Closing date for submission of proposals including cost break down and project plan 19 September 2014. The applicant will be subject to NFVF criteria
