Hego Group Announces Merger with Chyron 11 March 2013
New Company Creates a Market Leading Powerhouse in the Fields of Broadcast Graphics, Virtual Graphics, Telestration and Image Tracking Systems for Sports, News and Entertainment.
STOCKHOLM March 11, 2013
Hego Group, a leading provider of powerful graphics and data visualization solutions for TV and sports, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to merge with Chyron Corporation, a leading provider of on-air graphics systems for newsrooms, studios, sports broadcasting facilities, and corporate video environments.
The new company will be rebranded as ChyronHego.
The combination of Chyron and Hego brings together two pioneering companies to create a new powerhouse in broadcast graphics creation, play out, and real-time data visualization, said Michael Wellesley-Wesley, President and CEO of Chyron Corporation. By combining the teams of Chyron and Hego, we will deliver to our customers a highly diverse and compelling broadcast graphics capability.
The Chyron and Hego product lines are very complementary with very little overlap. Hego solutions predominately address the needs of live production for Sport with product categories such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Advertising, Telestration and service offerings based around their proprietary Image and Player Tracking solutions. For its part, Chyron has recently been more focused on graphics solutions for live and near-live News production workflows.

The merger, which is expected to close at the end of May, remains subject to customary closing conditions. At closing Johan Apel, Hego Chairman and CEO, will be elected to the Chyron Board and appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of ChyronHego.
ChyronHego will hold its 2013 NAB Press Conference on Sunday, April 7 at 8 a.m. in the LVCC, Room N242.
