The Sky Sports News channel which can be seen in the UK as well as in Nordic countries did a report from the Marvelous City with support from Filme Rio Rio Film Commission (FR RFC).
Shot over a single day, June 10, the story focused on the match between Brazil and England, played at Maracan stadium on Sunday, June 2, and the beginning of the FIFA Confederation Cup, June 15. With the Cup coming up, we wanted to showcase Rio, with views from the Christ statue, which is a good representation of the city, as well as the games and the opening ceremonies of the Confederation Cup , says Parasol Broadcast producer Raquel Battersby-Araujo. The story aired June 2 on London s Sky Sport News channel.
The news crew remained in the city to cover the Confederation Cup and shot takes mainly around and inside Maracan stadium. Raquel Battersby-Araujo says FR-RFC s support was vital to the production. We had been working with FR-RFC from the moment the crew arrived in Brazil and their support was great. Paperwork was taken care of immediately, there was always someone to assist us and everything was done extra fast. I didn t have to make a million calls or anything like that, everything happened fast.
