A movie trailer is a movie preview (or precursor), highlighting its best and most exciting parts. South Africa has some excellent blockbuster movies But what would you say have been the best ones?
We'd like to spark the debate!
There's CHAPPIE and District 9.

Don't forget about the documentary MUTANT and feature film Catch A Fire.

District 9 District 9 is a science-fiction movie released in 2009.
It's the movie released just before Elysium, another dystopian science-fiction flick from Blomkamp's mind.
The movie contains many South African touches, including the flag and fictional company TetraVaal.

CHAPPIE Chappie is a 2015 science-fiction movie.
Die Antwoord band members star as two gangsters with their own android. CHAPPIE is soon trained to be their partner in crime and well, that's most of the movie's plot.

Trailer: Silverton Siege Silverton Siege is based on real events.
The movie recounts the Silverton Siege, which took place in Pretoria.
It's a movie about the struggle you've got to see.

Trailer: Moffie Moffie is an Afrikaans South African movie that talks about topics that aren't discussed too often. The story takes viewers to the old South African National Defence Force (SANDF), talking through the perspective of a gay conscript.
Being gay was unacceptable back then.
It's a deep drama, and a good movie.

Trailer: Invictus Invictus stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela.
The movie follows the famous Rugby World Cup and its journey.
It's good even if you aren't that into sports films.

Trailer: Mutant The movie MUTANT isn't fictional.
MUTANT is about the life of rapper and hip-hop artist Isaac Mutant.
The journey follows him through Cape Town, exploring what makes the man and what makes the man make music.
