View MTV to retain and double in-house digital ad sales team

09/04/2013

The six-strong digital sales team will be led by Duncan McCrum, head of digital for MTV Networks, at the broadcasters headquarters in Camden, north London.

MTV has also announced plans to double the size of the team.

Team members will be working in partnership with their former TV sales colleagues, now at Sky Media, to produce solutions across MTV Networks major brands, including MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and South Park.

David Lynn, managing director at MTV Networks UK & Ireland, said: It makes total sense for us to retain our digital media sales team, given the continuing investment Viacom is making in our digital propositions and the growing opportunities we believe this now affords our advertisers.

In November, Sky Media landed the contract to handle the sales for the MTV Network of channels from 1 January 2010 at the expense of VBS. The five-year deal is worth in the region of £375m.
