Gigawave On-boards Bring Home the New 0 MotoGP Season

Last night saw the first race in the new 2013 MotoGP season under the floodlights in Qatar. As always the start of the new season brings with it a host of new challenges to see who will come out on top. Testing had thrown up a number of questions and scenarios; will Dani Pedrosa finally win a championship, will Valentino Rossi be back to his best, will Jorge Lorenzo continue to dominate, what about Cal Crutchlow and the new comers like Marc Marquez and Bradley Smith? There was only one way to find out.

When the lights went out it was all action with Jorge Lorenzo beating Dani Pedrosa to the first corner and then was all out racing for the next 22 laps, with the Gigawave on-board systems bringing all the close racing to the screen. At the end of a fantastic first race it was Jorge Lorenzo who came out on top with the old charger Valentino Rossi in second, despite getting it all out of shape and dropping to seventh on lap two, and the newcomer Marc Marquez beating his teammate Dani Pedrosa to third.

As the official RF supplier to the MotoGP all the on-board and pit lane action was delivered via the Gigawave camera transmitters in their various forms delivering full high definition action to the millions of fans around the world.
