Single Point of Failure
The governor calls on Team Scorpion when his daughter is mysteriously "bio-hacked" with a deadly virus and only has 24 hours to live. Meanwhile, the case takes on a deeper significance for Walter (Elyes Gabel) after he receives a letter regarding his sister.

Julie Berkman's Older Sister
Jesss (Zooey Deschanel) dad (recurring guest star Rob Reiner) visits and brings along his new girlfriend (guest star Kaitlin Olson, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who turns out to be Jess and Ceces (Hannah Simone) old high-school rival. Meanwhile, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) tries to land a big account at work and recruits the other guys to participate in a focus group.

Crimes and Misdemeanors & Ex-BFs
Mindys (Mindy Kaling) tax woes could jeopardize the future of the practice, so she concocts a scheme to obtain Cliffs (recurring guest star Glenn Howerton) legal assistance to bail her out. Meanwhile, Peter (Adam Pally) and Jeremy (Ed Weeks) compete for Laurens (Tracy Wigfield) affection.
Wednesday, Oct. 1:
Hell's Kitchen (s/FOX): 8 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. MT, 7 p.m. CT
14 Chefs Compete
The chefs compete in a test that involves identifying proteins and matching them to dishes. The winning team spends a beach day in Santa Monica with American Olympic athletes Genai Kerer, Shea Buckner, and Tumua Anae. Later, one team struggles with coordination during the dinner service.
Modern Family (s/ABC): 9 p.m. ET/PT, 10 p.m. MT, 8 p.m. CT
Do Not Push
The Dunphy clan is off to visit the Caltech campus, one of the most prestigious schools in the country and only 45 minutes from home. Claire (Julie Bowen) thinks it's perfect for Alex (Ariel Winter), but Alex has other ideas. Meanwhile, Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) decides that it's time for a new family portrait one that includes her but it soon comes to light that someone is not quite as photogenic as they thought.

The Talk
Dre (Anthony Anderson) insists on giving Andre Jr. (Marcus Scribner) "the talk" but soon comes to regret it when he becomes inundated with nonstop questions about sex from his curious son.

Bachelor Tim and the 12 remaining bachelorettes look for love under the sun in beautiful Los Cabos, Mexico. While Tim begins to fall for one bachelorette on a high-adrenaline date, the drama amongst the other women reaches a boiling point. Later, an abrupt change of plans before the rose ceremony leaves the ladies reeling.

The State of Union
Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) prepares to speak about gun control in his State of the Union address, so Cyrus (Jeff Perry) reaches out to a power couple who can provide assistance with this topic. Danny (Randal Edwards) and Kim (Julia Voth) are surprised to find they have fallen into a sex slump and neither seems to know how to reignite the fire. Meanwhile, Ryan's (Jay Malone) new girlfriend wants him to choke her during sex an idea he is completely uncomfortable with. And Sheldon (Harland Williams) is dating a woman who is only happy when they stay in hotels a habit he can't afford. The whole gang accidentally converges at a sex shop while looking for answers to their problems, eventually leading Danny and Kim to finding their slump solution in the unlikeliest of places.

The Loneliest Locker
Frankie (Patricia Heaton) and Mike (Neil Flynn) search for second jobs so that they can afford to send Sue (Eden Sher) to a good college. Meanwhile, Sue and Brad (Brock Ciarlelli) want to put on a meaningful senior play; Axl (Charlie McDermott) furnishes his rented pad with items from his familys home; and Brick (Atticus Shaffer) finds a box of old toys.
