
Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n: 100 a os conectando emociones Arranca la celebraci n del centenario del t tulo de Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n con un debate online sobre el pasado, presente y futuro de la profesi n.
El pasado mi rcoles 22 de abril tuvo lugar el primer evento dentro de la amplia serie de celebraciones previstas a lo largo de este a o para conmemorar el centenario de la profesi n de Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n. La fecha se ha escogido por coincidir con el d a en que se hizo oficial el nuevo t tulo de Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n en 1920.
El evento consisti en una sesi n virtual de debate entre cuatro destacados profesionales sobre el pasado, presente y futuro de la profesi n y su relevancia para la sociedad especialmente en momentos de dificultad como la actual pandemia.
Marta Balenciaga, decana-presidente del Colegio Oficial Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n (COIT) y presidenta de la Asociaci n Espa ola de Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n (AEIT) dio la bienvenida a los participantes recordando que el centenario servir para hacer un merecido reconocimiento a todos los profesionales que nos han precedido y que han hecho avanzar esta profesi n durante los ltimos 100 a os haci ndola m s grande .
Grandes hitos En el inicio del debate, moderado por el Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n Luis Garc a Mill n, se ha hablado sobre los grandes hitos t cnicos del ltimo siglo relacionados con la profesi n. En este repaso han surgido avances concretos, como el transistor o la simbiosis entre Internet y el m vil, y otros m s gen ricos como El desarrollo de la aviaci n comercial tal y como la conocemos hoy en d a no ser a posible sin las comunicaciones , en palabras de Alexia Rodr guez, miembro de la Junta del COIT, coordinadora del GT Mujer IT del COIT y Product Owner en ArcelorMittal.
A continuaci n, se valor la importancia social del Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n en el momento actual. Los participantes han subrayado la falta de conocimiento social sobre la profesi n y, especialmente, sobre su relaci n con amplios sectores de la econom a donde es una pieza transversal imprescindible. En este sentido, Emma Fern ndez Alonso, consejera independiente de Metrovacesa y Axway, ha recordado que nunca es suficiente el ejercicio de comunicar a la sociedad qui nes somos y qu hacemos .
Pandemia y digitalizaci n Durante el encuentro tambi n se debati sobre el papel de la profesi n ante la crisis creada por el COVID-19, destac ndose que las circunstancias han obligado a que el teletrabajo, la teleducaci n y la telemedicina hayan conocido una expansi n sin precedentes. No es posible imaginar un confinamiento como el que estamos viviendo sin todas estas herramientas que han permitido hacer pedagog a digital en muy pocas semanas , seg n Miguel Carlos Castillejo Calvo, concejal de Transparencia e Innovaci n Tecnol gica en el Ayuntamiento de Alcal de Henares y Business Senior Manager en BBVA.
Los participantes coincidieron en se alar que los Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n pueden contribuir a que las personas se convierten en ciudadanos digitales y a mitigar la brecha digital que provoca exclusi n. Del mismo modo, constataron que el teletrabajo masivo ha funcionado y que muchas personas se est n planteando en continuar con esta opci n cuando la crisis haya remitido.
La sesi n se cerr con una mirada al futuro. En ella, los participantes han se alado las grandes tendencias que dominar n durante los pr ximos a os en el mbito de las tecnolog as para la informaci n y las comunicaciones: el desarrollo del Big Data o el Internet de las cosas; la lucha por nuevos modelos de producci n dentro de la Industria 4.0; la ciberseguridad, o el debate entre seguridad y libertad.
Los expertos aseguraron que la sociedad estar cada vez m s hiperconectada. En aquello que se pueda, todo se digitalizar , se automatizar , se conectar y se analizar , afirm Julio Linares L pez, patrono de la Fundaci n Telef nica y presidente de la Comisi n de Sociedad Digital de la CEOE. En este sentido a adi que el Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n del futuro deber ser muy flexible y creativo para adaptarse no solo a los cambios sino a las disrupciones .
La sesi n concluy con la idea compartida de que la profesi n de Ingeniero de Telecomunicaci n debe preocuparse de la tecnolog a, pero sin olvidar la dimensi n humanista asociada a ella ; en definitiva, las personas. Incluso, se mencionaron las empresas llamadas bi nicas, aquellas que son capaces de encajar con xito la tecnolog a y el talento humano. Igualmente, se apel a la esperanza y al optimismo ante el avance tecnol gico.
Para 2020, el COIT/AEIT, con el apoyo de toda su estructura territorial, ha puesto en marcha una serie de iniciativas y eventos con un enfoque com n bajo el lema Ingenieros de Telecomunicaci n: 100 a os conectando emociones. Cuentan con la colaboraci n de universidades que imparten el t tulo de M ster Universitario en Ingenier a de Telecomunicaci n, de empresas del sector y de la Administraci n P blica, as como del amplio colectivo de colegiados.
