The Content Producer is to create, maintain and ensure the execution of the seasonal content plan through the management of the Content Team. This means leading and motivating Scriptwriters to deliver according to content goals, ensuring timeous delivery of a high quality production.
Supervising the Online Content Producer, ensuring that onscreen content translates to online and visa versa. Working closely with the Insert Team to ensure that inserts meet the mandates, achieve the objectives of the Content Plan and enhance in-studio content by being relevant, informative and entertaining.

1. Content Management
a. Hosting Workshops and Brainstorms to define content for various periods incl. Seasonally, Monthly, Weekly
b. Ensuring the monthly Content Plan schedule maintains its 6-week in advance timeline
c. Conceptualizing and establishing the Seasonal Content Plan for recommission
d. Work closely with the Insert, Logistics and Studio teams to ensure that the programs content requirements are me
e. Proactively seek out and incorporate fresh, creative angles in online content
f. Develop creative campaigns and strategies, on own initiative and with SABC Marketing, in order to grow viewership
g. Keep current with the viewer trends and opinions in order to keep the program fresh and competitive
h. Maintain high level of quality control
2. Team Management
a. Daily supervision, management and motivation of staff
b. Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide others (across all levels)
c. Ensure accurate and timeous internal communication to team
d. Ensure adherence to and compliance with corporate policy and procedures
e. Ensure all required information is included in scripts (e.g. questions for guests, details on props, durations of inserts, execution of games and activities, VT etc)
f. Ensure that SABC requirements (mandates, instructions, changes) are included in scripts
g. Ensure that scripts reflect the correct tone and style and technical requirements
h. Ensure that content requirements are included in online platforms
3. Research and Information Sourcing
a. To consistently source exciting content that makes for great viewing and speaks effectively to the market
b. Developing research into tangible and feasible ideas that can be used in studio or on location
d. Facilitate and coordinate strategy into onscreen or online content
4. Workflow and Systems
a. Establish timelines with regards to delivery according to the Content Plan
b. Attend all pre-content meetings
c. Meet weekly with Producer to detail implementation of content plan and update on any changes
d. Meet weekly with Insert team to define required content and ensure Inserts are inline with the content strategy
e. Meet weekly with Scriptwriters and Online Content Producer to ensure implementation of Content Plan
f. Devise and maintain scripting schedules (two weeks in advance), ensuring that deadlines are set and adhered to
5. Reporting
a. Oversee the PR Reports
b. Oversee the monthly SABC Report
Requirements
Excellent skills in written and verbal communications
Excellent presentation and Interpersonal skills
Very creative
Must be able to meet all deadlines
Competitive / market knowledge
Understanding of the target audience
Knowledge and understanding of the production process
Drivers License and own car
