Amagi Announces Major Upgrade to CLOUDPORT Cloud Broadcast Platform

Amagi has announced a significant update to Amagi CLOUDPORT, its cloud-based broadcast playout platform. The update includes 250-plus features shipped in FY25-26 and adds support for 100-plus concurrent feeds with 200-player multi-availability-zone redundancy in a single tenant.

Over the past year, Amagi has prioritized a fundamental shift in how broadcast infrastructure is designed-moving beyond simple cloud migration to reengineering the core of playout operations, says Srinivasan KA, Co-Founder and President, Global Business, Amagi. The latest set of upgrades directly impacts uptime, control, and scalability for broadcasters operating in high-pressure, always-on environments.

Amagi Monitoring

A new proactive monitoring platform built for CLOUDPORT deployments surfaces missing assets, schedule gaps, ingest failures, audio misconfigurations, and delivery anomalies. Since late 2025, Amagi Monitoring has averted more than 80% of potential disruption scenarios.

Security

CLOUDPORT has achieved SOC 2 Type II certification for the second consecutive year.

Resiliency

CLOUDPORT is designed for 99.999% availability. Network-level resiliency includes support for SMPTE ST 2022-7 hitless protection switching for RTP-based workflows. Infrastructure-level resiliency includes active-active multi-region redundancy and multi-availability-zone deployments. An on-premises Disaster Recovery Box supports up to 72 hours of localized continuity in the event of cloud or network outages.

Operator Interface

The updated platform delivers approximately 70% faster playlist publishing via show-level playlist editing, a horizontal timeline view for conflict management, and a unified interface supporting 16-channel synchronized playout with configurable widgets.

Playout Performance

New capabilities include ultra-low-latency JPEG-XS workflows reducing transmission lag by up to 1.3 seconds, 4K HDR 10-bit video and Dolby Atmos audio support across HDR10 and HLG formats, Google Speech-to-Text V2 for real-time AI captioning and translation, and HTML-triggered graphics automation.

Cloud Infrastructure

The platform deepens its AWS integration through next-generation compute instances, Amazon EKS, Karpenter-based autoscaling, and GP3 storage migration.
