FOR-A Honored with 2016 Technology & Engineering EMMY Award

Tokyo, JAPAN - NOVEMBER 15, 2016 On Saturday, January 7, 2017, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) will present the 68th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. FOR-A Company Ltd. is one of three recipients recognized for Live Production Technology Beyond HD to Achieve Non-Interpolated Video for Instant Replay. FOR-A was the first manufacturer to release and have put into a practical application, an ultra-high-speed 4K resolution camera with up to 900 frames per second -- the FT-ONE, for live sports production.
The FT-ONE has been used on a wide variety of high-profile sports events and broadcasting projects throughout the world. While traditional sports coverage is great for much of the action, high speed capability with 4K extraction has been a real game-changer. It provides image details that were never possible before and catches action that has been extracted and integrated from the field of play and assimilate it into a HD production. The level of image detail, and resolution was never before seen by the home viewer whereby offering a new way to enjoy a sports event, making it clear as to the outcome of a controversial play.

For over 28 years, FOR-A has been developing unique high speed cameras originally targeted for Research & Development and Industrial markets, which helped leverage their great success in the world of sports with its FT-ONE and its sibling cameras. The FOR-A development team set extremely high expectations and standards to produce a camera offering 4K high resolution, accompanied by high-speed, making it the first high-speed camera for super-slow-motion acquisition.
The FT-ONE, incorporates a custom ultra-resolution CMOS with high speed, ultra-low noise and extreme light sensitivity, all developed by FOR-A. The FOR-A engineering team succeeded at pioneering a camera technology to provide viewers with a new experience. Capturing high- speed images at 4K resolution and then integrating with HD image extraction solutions, provided a new way to see sports events and scenes in details like never before.
